Language is the greatest technology our species ever invented.
It's seriously magical. I don't mean that metaphorically, I mean it literally.
Sound like Alan Moore?
Yeah, well I'm an ardent devotee of his worshipfulness.
Take his BBC course. It's a mind blower. He's why I believe language is magic and makes a damn good case for it. Heck he casts spells for a living, spells that have made him a ton of money. This is why they call it "spelling" btw. In case you missed that one.
Besides, our civilization is bound by magic spells, called Law. Some dude writes something down and it compels people to do all stupid stuff, and protect us.
Look at the power of religious texts. Those are serious bodies of spells that enthrall billions.
Heck, the Internet is a big freaking spell casting machine, for pete's sake. SMS, email, web pages, blah blah blah.
Language is powerful magic and a technology that can create worlds out of nothing. Whether it's using the alphabet, math, code it makes the world go around and gets us to do stuff.
Welcome to the Technomagical Era. You have just started to step out of the Matrix, or go down the Rabbit Hole to visit Wonderland.
I'll leave you with the words of one of the greatest science communicators of the modern era:
May the Force be with you.
