Tech made the simple act of logging in a nightmare. Why would you trust them with AI?

Tech had 35 years to solve the login problem. They made it a nightmare. Now you want to AI-fy their insanity?

Back in the beginning of the Net, we had four character logins. They could literally be anything you wanted. Common passwords were “12345” or “password.”

Then everything went downhill from there.

Today logins are like wandering through the maze of the minotaur in ancient Greece.

I can easily spend five minutes trying to log in. Let’s look at some of the absurd security measures and then ask some hard questions.

Here are some of my favorite “totally complete and utterly broken” logins.

Every time I log in to my bank I have to receive a phone call with a robot’s voice that speaks as slow as a turtle walks. She gives me a one-time code, and then I can log in.

For five years, this has happened EVERY time I try to login, even though I click the button “trust my browser.” And it doesn’t matter what browser I log in on. It’s always the same routine.

And I have to waste my precious life doing it.
